We’ve reviewed all of the seating options at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota, home to the Vikings NFL team, named “best venue” in a recent review by The Athletic.
This huge venue plays host to more than just American Football games too, with concerts and other sporting events regularly taking place.
So if you’re looking for the best seats at the US stadium to suit your budget and preferences, we’ve got you covered. In this article we’ll give you all the information you need with reviews of every seating level and premium option too.
We’ll even give you the lowdown on all the best food and drink options at the stadium.
History and Redevelopment
Constructed on the site of the former Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, U.S. Bank Stadium, with its enclosed structure, opened its doors in 2016.
This marked a new chapter for the Minnesota Vikings, who had played at the Metrodome from 1982 until its closure in 2013. During the stadium’s construction, the Vikings temporarily played at Huntington Bank Stadium.
The completion of U.S. Bank Stadium was a significant milestone. Not only was it the first fixed-roof stadium in the NFL since Ford Field, but its budget of over $1 billion, funded through a mix of state, city, team, and private contributions, reflected its grandeur and multifunctional capabilities.
This stadium has been a prestigious venue for major events, including Super Bowl LII, the ESPN X Games, and the NCAA Final Four.
In 2023, The Athletic crowned U.S. Bank Stadium as the NFL’s “best venue,” a testament to its excellence.
Design and Architecture
The stadium’s design by HKS, Inc., renowned for their work on other major sports venues, is a blend of practicality and aesthetic brilliance. Its lightweight, translucent roof made of Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) is the largest in North America.
This design, inspired by Nordic architecture, allows the stadium to handle heavy snow loads efficiently. The stadium’s large, glazed entrances and pivoting doors are designed to maximize natural light, offering fans a spectacular view of downtown Minneapolis.
Despite conservation groups’ requests for bird-friendly designs, the stadium features highly reflective glass, which has led to environmental concerns due to bird fatalities.
Efforts have been made to address these issues, with a bird fatality study completed in 2019.
Seating and Capacity
U.S. Bank Stadium has a seating capacity of 66,860 for most events, expandable to 73,000 for special events. This capacity slightly exceeds that of the Metrodome, allowing for more fans to enjoy games and events.
The stadium has hosted several high-attendance games, with record attendances against teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.
Concerts and Events
Apart from being an NFL powerhouse, U.S. Bank Stadium has hosted a plethora of concerts featuring famous bands and artists. The ability to transform into a concert venue with substantial capacity has made it a go-to location for major music events, further enhancing its reputation as a versatile and sought-after venue.
As you consider your visit to U.S. Bank Stadium, whether for a Vikings game or a concert, this guide aims to provide you with all the necessary details to enhance your experience.
From its rich history to its modern architectural splendor, U.S. Bank Stadium is not just a venue but a landmark that promises an unforgettable experience.
100 Level and F and V sections
When you first step into the 100 level sections at U.S. Bank Stadium, the atmosphere is palpable. This level, consisting of sections 101 through 143, is where you’re close to the action, feeling every tackle and hearing the crowd’s roar up close. The proximity to the field here is unmatched, offering a visceral game-day experience.

100 Level Corner Seating
In the corners, such as sections 101, 103, 136, and 138, you get a unique blend of affordability and a decent view of the field. These sections are large, often with up to 60 seats in a row, making them some of the biggest in the stadium.

However, this means navigating in and out can be challenging, especially if you’re not near an aisle. The higher rows, while offering a better view due to additional elevation, also mean a longer walk to the concessions and facilities.
West endzone corner sections, particularly, provide a more social atmosphere, thanks to the open concourse nearby.

In contrast, the east endzone corners, like sections 118-121, offer better overall views and sightlines to the Minneapolis skyline, making them more appealing if you’re focused on the game.
100 Level Endzone Seating
Opting for the 100 level endzone sections, you’re choosing a comfortable view without the premium club ticket price. These sections have straight-away views of the field, minimizing the need to turn your head for replays on the videoboard.

However, be prepared for longer walks to amenities as the entry tunnels are mostly located at the top.
The choice between east and west endzones depends on personal preference. If you prefer a backdrop of the Minneapolis skyline with good overall views, the east endzone is your go-to.

For a more social setting, the west endzone, with its proximity to the large open concourse, would be a better fit.
100 Level Sideline Seating
Sideline seats in the 100 level, though not at midfield, still provide excellent views from the lower level. North sideline sections, like 111-113, offer a good balance between viewing height and convenience, especially if you choose rows 15 and higher.
On the south sideline, sections 126, 128, and 130 are notable for their smaller size, optimal viewing height, and proximity to the home team sideline.

A highlight is the northeast corner, particularly in sections 116 and 118. Here, in rows 33-42, you get a remarkable view down the visitor’s sideline and a direct line of sight to the videoboard and skyline.
This spot offers a unique perspective, especially for visiting team fans experiencing Minneapolis for the first time.
Premium Seating
While exploring the 100 level, it’s impossible to ignore the premium seating areas. The Polaris Club (sections V1 through V5), The Delta Sky360 Club (sections F1 through F5), and The Medtronic Club (sections V6 through V10) provide a luxury experience.
However, it’s worth noting that these premium sections sit very low to the field, which can sometimes limit your view due to the players along the sideline.
We’ll look at these sections in more detail later in the article.
If you’re a Vikings fan seeking a balance of atmosphere and view, I’d recommend the 100 level corners near the east endzone.

The sightlines are impressive, and the additional elevation in these sections provides a superior view over the crowd.
For those attending their first game, the northeast corner sections offer a unique perspective that combines both the thrill of the game and the beauty of Minneapolis’s skyline.

In summary, the 100 level at U.S. Bank Stadium offers a diverse range of seating options catering to different preferences, whether you prioritize being close to the action, seeking a social atmosphere, or desiring a panoramic view of the cityscape.
200 Level (Club Level)
The club level at U.S. Bank Stadium, consisting of sections 204 through 242, is a tier above in terms of both view and comfort. The rows in these sections are typically numbered 1 through 15. Exclusive club sections like the Little Six Casino’s Club Gold and the FMP Club, located at midfield, offer an elevated experience.

If you’re seated in sections 208, 214, 231, or 237, you’re in for a treat. These seats offer an ideal viewing height from the second tier and a desirable sideline perspective. The fewer seats per row are a significant advantage, ensuring a more relaxed and focused game-watching experience.

Corner seats
As you navigate to the 200 level corners of U.S. Bank Stadium, especially closer to the east endzone, you’re treated to an excellent viewing perspective. The height of the second tier here is optimal, offering a balanced view of the field without the premium price tag of club seats. However, these sections don’t come with any special amenities, focusing purely on the viewing experience.

The sections near the west endzone (240-242) offer a distinct atmosphere, though you might find the concession options are a bit more of a walk. The sightlines to the open end of the stadium are limited here. In contrast, the corner seats near the east endzone provide better views, particularly of the Minneapolis skyline and the larger west endzone videoboard.

In sections like 225-228 in the southeast corner, the rows are slightly fewer, typically just 12, due to the presence of the broadcast control area. A word of caution: avoid the lower numbered seats in section 225, as a partition of glass can obstruct your view of the near endzone.

200 Level Endzone Seating
The 200 level endzone, encompassing sections 222-224, is unique in offering a pure behind-the-endzone view from the stadium’s second tier. The viewing height here is exceptional, allowing for a comfortable, unobstructed view of the field. You can enjoy the game with minimal head turning, and the larger west endzone videoboard is perfectly in sight for replays.

These sections have a maximum of 18 numbered rows, with entry tunnels conveniently located near the front. Section 224 is particularly noteworthy for its minimal seating per row, ideal if you prefer easy access to and from your seat.
200 Level Sideline Seating
On the 200 level sidelines, while you may not get the coveted 50-yard line view, the experience is still remarkable. The viewing height and sideline angles are desirable, and the cost is more reasonable compared to premium midfield seats. Sections like 208, 214, 231, and 237 are especially appealing, thanks to their smaller seating arrangement, enhancing the feeling of exclusivity.
Entry tunnels are near the front, making the first five rows highly sought-after for their ease of access. However, shorter fans should be mindful of the safety glass in front of the first row, as it may hinder the view slightly.

Adjacent to the FMP and Buffalo Wild Wings club seats, sections 208, 214, 231, and 237 stand out. They offer excellent views from the second tier without the premium price. The smaller seating areas, with no more than 15 rows and 15 seats per row, mean less hassle getting in and out, letting you focus more on the game.

The 200 level stands out for its perfect blend of view, comfort, and value. The corner seats, especially near the east endzone, provide a comprehensive view of the action with the added bonus of the city’s skyline. In the endzone sections, the height advantage is a game-changer, offering an unobstructed view of plays developing on the field. For a balanced experience of comfort and view without the premium cost, the sideline sections like 208 and 231 are my personal favorites.
300 Level (Upper)
When you ascend to the 300 level of U.S. Bank Stadium, encompassing sections 301 through 351, you’re entering a zone that combines affordability with a unique viewing experience.

The rows in these upper level sections vary, starting with lettered rows from A to E, followed by numbered rows. No section here exceeds 31 rows, ensuring that even the farthest seat still feels part of the action.
300 Level Corner Seating
In the 300 level corners, especially near the east endzone, you’re positioned to appreciate the Minneapolis skyline. These sections offer a balance between cost and view, with a special recommendation for the northeast corner.

Here, the lettered rows, which are at the front, provide a more intimate and less strenuous experience, feeling almost like a private seating deck. However, note that these desirable lettered rows aren’t available in the southeast corner.

The corner sections near the west endzone, such as 350-352, offer their unique charm, being among the smallest in the stadium. But, keep in mind, the concessions and restrooms require a longer walk from these sections.
300 Level Endzone Seating
The 300 level endzone, particularly sections 324-327, presents a striking view of the Minneapolis skyline.

If you’re seeking the best experience in this area, aim for the lettered rows which are at or just below concourse level, offering easier access and less stair climbing.
The numbered rows are higher and might require more effort to reach. While these seats may not provide the most comprehensive view of the game, they are wallet-friendly and still offer straight-away sight lines.
300 Level Sideline Seating
Sideline seating in the 300 level, though higher up, can still offer robust viewing options, especially in the lettered rows. These rows feel like they are part of a separate deck, offering excellent field views and easy access to the concourse.

Most of these sections, except for section 337, are split into a smaller lower portion (lettered rows) and a larger upper portion (numbered rows).

If your budget confines you to the upper numbered rows, rows 5 through 10 are recommended. This positioning avoids being too high up and helps minimize viewing limitations caused by safety glass, which are more prevalent in the lowest numbered rows.
Optimal Seating Recommendations
The 300 level of U.S. Bank Stadium is a blend of affordability and unique perspectives. For those who enjoy skyline views and a sense of being above it all, the 300 level corners near the east endzone, particularly in the lettered rows, are a great choice.

For a straight view of the field and a skyline backdrop, the endzone sections in the lettered rows offer a comfortable and budget-friendly option.

Lastly, for a broader view of the game, the 300 level sideline sections in the lettered rows provide an excellent vantage point, making them a strong choice for those who want to capture the essence of the game from an elevated perspective.
Family-Friendly Seating at U.S. Bank Stadium
Taking your family to a Vikings game at U.S. Bank Stadium, you might be on the lookout for seating that’s both convenient and comfortable for everyone.

Based on my experiences, certain sections particularly cater to families, making your game day a bit more relaxed and enjoyable.
Lower Seating Tier: Sections 101 and 103
In the lower seating tier, I found sections 101 and 103, located near the northwest corner, to be quite suitable for families. Opting for the upper rows, especially rows 33 and higher, is a smart choice.

This way, you’re just within a 10-row walk from the top of the aisle, reducing the amount of stair-climbing needed. Plus, you’re conveniently situated by a family restroom located just above section 103 – a real perk when attending with kids.

There are also several concession stands nearby, which is handy for quick snacks or drinks. And if you’re considering buying souvenirs, the main team store is right above section 101.

200 Level: Sections 221-224
On the 200 level, while there’s a focus on premium seating, I found that rows 8 and lower in sections 221-224 offer a great family-friendly atmosphere. These seats are close to the section entry tunnel just above row 2, which means less hassle getting in and out.

The view from here is something special, too – you get a straight-away view of the field and the entertainment on the large west endzone videoboard, which means no neck-cranking to follow the action.

The view of the Minneapolis skyline from these seats is a nice bonus. However, do note that restrooms are a bit of a walk from here.
300 Level: Lettered Rows in Sections 344-348
The 300 level, with its unique division into lower and upper portions, breaks the mold of traditional upper-tier seating. The lettered rows (A-E) are incredibly convenient, as they’re just a few rows below the level of the upper concourse.

This makes moving to and from the seats much easier, a definite advantage when with children.
Sections 344-348 in this area are particularly family-friendly, being close to essential amenities like women’s and men’s restrooms, a family restroom, a first aid station, a guest services desk, escalators, a team store, and concessions.

The affordability of these seats is the cherry on top, making it easier to bring the whole family along.
From a family perspective, each of these options offers something different. Whether you prioritize easy access, a great view, or proximity to amenities, U.S. Bank Stadium has sections that cater to your needs.

While the stadium might not have dedicated kids’ areas or family-themed attractions, these sections certainly make up for it by offering a comfortable and convenient game day experience for families.
